Health and Safety Specialist / Spécialiste SST

A leader in industrial automation solutions is looking for a Health and Safety Specialist to oversee the company's Health and Safety program. Reporting to the HR Director, this role will play a strategic role in the development of health and safety policies and procedures, drive change and build the safety culture and oversee day-to-day safety for the company. The Role:

 

  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE program

  • Provide technical HSE advice and support to guide supervisors and employees to ensure compliance with regulatory and HSE program requirements

  • Undertake safety inspections, investigations, and audits as deemed necessary - reporting back to leadership regarding best practices and key focus areas

  • Provide support in the development and implementation of safety training for superintendents and job-site teams

 

The Candidate:

 

  • Bilingual in French and English (written and oral)

  • 3+ years' experience in a Health and Safety role (preference for industrial settings)

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health and Safety, or other related discipline

  • Strong communicator and collaborator across all levels of the business, with the ability to multi-task and think on their feet

  • Strong change management and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust and rapport
