Fulfilling a Specialized Role in Disability and Wellness Advisory.

Shirley Parsons Places Bilingual Disability and Wellness Advisor For Niche Role In Quebec.

​Background.

A large pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Quebec were searching for someone to fill a newly created role, a Disability and Wellness Advisor.

The goal of this new role was to conduct more employee disability claims in house and to help prevent injuries from happening through a newly established company-wide wellness program that the hired candidate would lead.

Prior to creating this role, the organization had been outsourcing most of their disability claims to insurance companies. Shirley Parsons were approached to help fill the role and gave the team the opportunity to recruit for the Disability and Wellness sector.

Our approach.

The greatest challenge was finding a candidate that had experience doing in house disability claims. There were several applicants with several years of experience working for insurance companies but very few that worked in house for companies. Another challenge was finding a fully bilingual candidate in Quebec.

Thanks to Shirley Parsons extensive global network, we were able to present a candidate who had worked for an insurance company and who also worked previously as the Disability Claims Manager at a Law firm covering several client companies.

This candidate was well experienced and fully bilingual in both French and English. Upon meeting the candidate in person, she really connected well with the team on the final on-site interview, and it was evident that she was the perfect candidate to lead this new position.

Outcome.

Throughout the interview process ,Shirley Parsons were able to communicate to the client that our candidate was interviewing else where and that she had an offer from another company. We shared the details of that offer to our client so they could ensure that they were giving the candidate the best offer they could and gain a competitive advantage.

This is a new emerging market that more and more companies are shifting towards, so there was a small number of candidates that fit what the client was seeking. Our sourcing abilities allowed us to find the right candidate for an extremely niche role in the market.
